Verdict

At the time of BIG BOOTS' win here in March, the 53-length margin was seen as a fluke however the second has won off marks in the 100s since over hurdles and so he is fancied to win again with his jockey negating the penalty he received for that win. The selection poached an easy lead when winning here 329 days ago but was still impressive. His earlier run behind Quws Law reads well and with the ground no bother, a big run is expected. The obvious danger is Errington who looks the most likely of the newcomers. He is related to some decent horses, including the fair chaser Arctic Ghost. His dam is a half-sister to Iris's Gift and so he could be decent if living up to his family's record. Fellow newcomer Turbo Island is related to a few flat winners and so he needs one eye keeping on him in the betting. Against The Wind, Turtle Spirit and Shambery were all well-held on their debuts, however improvement is expected from Turtle Spirit as his looked to be a fair race of its type. This appears to be another good opportunity for Big Boots' backers to fill theirs.
