Whitethorne looks the pick ahead of Linden's Lady and Zhitomir. A multiple winner this term, Whitethorne has progressed from a low base to this current mark. The jockey will need to ensure that he gets cover at an early stage but on all known evidence, a 5lb rise for a Carlisle win should not be enough to stop him. Linden's Lady is an in form mare who continues to run well. She could not repeat the winning habit over eight furlongs at Carlisle so the step back to seven will be a welcome sight for her followers. Zhitomir was third in a recent Newcastle handicap. Given that he was struggling to win off 65 - an additional 2lb for that run looks harsh. Downland would be held on a bare line of form. Ballyhurry, who has been so disappointing this term, will be better suited by tonight's likely stronger gallop. Anthemion is dropped in trip and is likely to be a probable front runner. Whitethorne is suggested as the most likely winner of a fascinating affair.
