Verdict

We'll take course specialist SHY GLANCE to land the last at the main expense of Wee Charlie Castle and Toshi. The selection has enjoyed two wins over course and distance and today races off a mark just 2lbs higher than his best win. He rarely runs a bad race at the track, acts on any ground and the form of his third here last time has a very solid look so he can come good again. Wee Charlie Castle was runner-up at Hamilton last week and is generally a consistent sort who can be relied upon to run his race, though Ian Semple's gelding may just have a little bit too much weight to get back in front today. Toshi did just that last time when taking a Ladies¿ Handicap at Chester and the gelding has gone up just 1lb for that success. Kelly Harrison claims a useful 3lbs here and Jim Goldie's runner can again get heavily involved. Island Music is 1lb lower than when putting in her best effort for some time at Newcastle. She is slipping to a much more attractive mark and money would be interesting. Muzmin has broken no pots in maidens but wouldn't have to be anything special to make a mockery of a mark of 62 for this handicap debut, but Shy Glance is the most solid option.
