    Verdict

Rajam may be able to shrug off topweight to fend off the challenges of Toni Alcala and Astromancer in the opening race at the Scottish track. Although set to carry the welter burden of 10st 5lb, Rajam at least lines up on the back of a recent victory at Musselburgh, his first since scoring for Alec Stewart at Newmarket three years ago. Since then the gelding has found it hard to win, but was starting to look attractively handicapped and it was no real surprise when he finally came good five days ago. To put his achievement in context, his main rival Easibet Dot Net appeared a bit reluctant to say the least, but he could do no more than he did. Still well weighted, Rajam only has a bit more to do here. Toni Alcala is expected to give him most to do, as he has no problems with the trip and will like the ground. However, he is going back up the weights and is opposable. Astromancer meanwhile, is out to get the losses back after being well beaten at Musselburgh, but she is still a maiden and is hard to make a strong case for. Dandy Nicholls looks to have found a suitable opportunity for Rajam who should last home under Alex Greaves.
