In depth

Verdict

A trappy affair can go the way of Baltimore Jack ahead of Distant Sun. Mick Easterby's gelding returns to this trip of six furlongs having struggled to last home over seven at Thirsk last time out. Good or quicker ground suits to a 'T' and having won over course and distance on his debut last year (in June), he looks sure to mount a bold bid now returned to Scotland. Distant Sun is another course and distance winner, having finally got off the mark last time out. He rewarded favourite backers that day with a narrow success and if the money comes again then it may be worth taking note. Prospect Place is consistent so has place claims, whilst Davaye can be expected to improve for his recent reappearance run. At a price Pegasus Dancer could reach the frame, however Baltimore Jack gets the nomination.
