In depth

Verdict

Not a bad race this, with Numero un de Solzen getting the nod from Hard Act To Follow and Sotovik. Numero un de Solzen looked a very good prospect when scoring at Carlisle on his debut and looks set to run a big race again under a penalty. Following his Down Royal bumper win, Hard Act To Follow could, as they say, be anything and is very much of interest. Rated in the mid-60s when winning on the Flat, Futoo showed some promise on his hurdling debut, while Great Approach hails from a good stable so check for market confidence. Sotovik's third to Serbelloni last time (the fourth from the race has won since) brings him right into it, particularly over today's longer trip, and Supreme's Legacy and Allegedly So have at least shown they can win a bumper. That's Rhythm should have a future at this game and course bumper winner Witch Wind showed plenty of promise when second to Percussionist on his hurdling debut. Overall, though, we will opt for Numero un de Solzen.
