      Verdict

SHOOT FOR GOLD was thought good enough to compete in Group 1 company last season having easily won a novice race before that. He returns to action today but an entry in the St Leger suggests he’s retained plenty of ability and Saeed bin Suroor won this contest last year. Jackamundo is upped in class and raised a further 6lb bidding for a hat-trick and Cockalorum also faces a more difficult task after winning at Ripon last time but Borodin scored in this grade at the same track last month and is also preferred to Nicholas T, a course and distance winner last week. Ayutthaya posted a better effort at Nottingham recently and can also go well.
