Verdict

Denis Hogan saddles the top rated trio here in EASTERN RACER, Stormy Air and Commander with preference for the former. He's never raced beyond a mile but wasn't stopping in either of his two races over that trip in the spring when runner-up at Cork and Naas and took on much stronger company at the Curragh last time. Commander, who is by Frankel, wasn't beaten far over this trip in a Gowran claimer before finishing last when tried over 1m4f at the Curragh. Grove Hill was just behind in that claimer so looks held but Stormy Air was tackling this grade for the first time when a close third at Killarney on Saturday so looks the main threat to his stable companion. Lizard Point has a lot to find at the weights though is best at this trip.
