Verdict

Apache Pilot hasn’t won away from his beloved Hexham in more than three years and has gone up 8lb for a recent victory. Irish Octave left it late at Warwick and is 5lb higher. He is probably better when he has a galloping track on which to unwind but is obviously in good form at present. TWOJAYSLAD has dropped to a winning mark and looked as though his turn was near when third at Wincanton in April. His yard has been among the winners lately and Will Kennedy’s mount may be the one to beat. Spock is the likely pace angle but generally struggles in this grade while Little Jimmy finds little off the bridle. Golden Investment and Russborough remain out of sorts.
