The Peter Niven-trained Panmure is only a tentative selection to get the better of the likes of Raise a McGregor and Bill's Echo, who have solid claims if there jumping holds together. The same can be said of Saspys Lad and Burning Truth though, and their presence does make for a clouded picture. Both have the ability to go close if they are on song, but as neither has completed in either of their last couple of outings, they now have a little to prove. Bill's Echo is a previous course and distance winner that should have no problems with the conditions. However, he is now 6lb higher in the weights and will need to be at his very best to score today. Panmure, by way of contrast, has enough useful form to his name at or around his current rating to give him sold claims in this company. Therefore, with his jumping standing up to a fair bit more scrutiny that some of the rest, Panmure just gets the nod today.
