Kingscross is taken to get the better of Cesar Manrique and Cashel Mead in this competitive handicap. The selection ran well last time when a good second behind Exmoor at Newbury and he will have his ground conditions to suit today. The drop in trip will not be a problem and he looks the value call. Cashel Mead could not be in better form and she is chasing a four-timer here. However, the key to her chance is the ground and all her best form is on a softer surface and for that reason she looks worth taking on today. Cesar Manrique was a little disappointing at Bath last time but that was on a soft surface and on this faster ground he is entitled to be much more competitive. Currency is a course and distance winner and is another to consider at an each-way price, but for the winner we will stick with Kingscross to lead them home.
