In depth

Verdict

A moderate maiden can go to Indiana Blues, with Deuxieme, Comeraincomeshine and Knead The Dough likely to provide the main dangers. Indiana Blues has had plenty of opportunities since contesting last year's Cheveley Park, so Andrew Balding's filly is no mortgage job, but she has at least been placed on a couple of occasions this term, and connections will be disappointed if they have to set their sights even lower. We shall give the daughter of Indian Ridge another chance ahead of Comeraincomeshine who has had a little break since being eased down as though something was amiss at Chepstow in July. Terry Mills' filly was sent off favourite at the Welsh track and has hinted in the past that she has the ability to win a race of this nature. Deuxieme faded out of contention at Newbury but her stable could hardly be in better heart after the victory of Tante Rose at the weekend. Knead The Dough was denied in a photo on the Polytrack in February and has not been seen since. He is best watched unless the money piles on, while Miss Monza, whose stable won this last year, is worth a small mention. Indiana Blues sets the standard though and should finally come good.
