Verdict

Escalating did well in the first half of last year but his form tailed off in the autumn and he hasn't raced since October. It was fast ground when PILLAR BOX (NAP) won over course and distance just over a year ago. He'll be all the better for a recent run at Goodwood and can edge out easy Windsor scorer Fast Dancer, though Joseph Tuite's charge is by no means harshly treated on his handicap debut. Rahmah beat the latter on Tapeta in April, however, and is actually 2lb better off so shouldn't be ignored, especially considering his trainer's record with sprinters.
