    Verdict

Mr Loire should prove the one to beat here, with Drifting Gold, Wachiwi and Piccolena Boy others to consider. Mr Loire holds no fancy entries and indeed has already been gelded, but he ran with a great deal of promise when third behind Stan Moore's Southandwest here last month. With minimal improvement, Roger Charlton's charge should safely have this wrapped up. Drifting Gold has been placed three times on the all-weather so far, but will be susceptible to an improver, while Piccolena Boy has place claims at least on his second to the selection's stablemate Abunai here the time before last. Basically, Mr Loire has been found the perfect opportunity to open his account, and he will be a popular choice to do so.
