    Verdict

ALWAYS THE LADY was returning from a three month lay-off when a close-up third at Goodwood. The runner-up has subsequently won and Clive Cox' filly can open her account with further improvement likely. Paoletta has found one too good on both starts to date and steps up in trip on her return from an absence. She's shown more than stablemate Hairpin, while there should be more to come from both Balandra and Appeal. Newcomer Sky Crystal is worth noting as her dam is related to middle-distance Group winners Dubai Success and State Crystal.
