In depth

Verdict

IRON BLUE was having only his fifth start when landing a 7f Gowran handicap in comfortable fashion and looks one to follow. He has a massive 12lb rise to contend with but Dylan Hogan's claim is a real bonus and he can go in again. Piper Bomb led for a long way in that Gowran event but had no answer when the winner swept past and appears unlikely to reverse the form. Poetic Light won a course and distance maiden in August but has been looking a few pounds high in handicaps so a 2lb drop should aid his cause. Triple Sec's two victories have been on heavy going while Premier League weakened over 7f at Listowel last time. Highway To Heaven's five runs have all been in testing conditions so it remains to be seen how she acts on tonight's going.
