      Verdict

      SOCIETY RED (NAP) won a Class 2 handicap over the track and trip in September and is only 3lb higher. He gave notice of another victory with a good run at Pontefract and looks the one to beat. Dawaaleeb gained a narrow maiden success at Lingfield in October then scored for new connections at Newcastle in March. He was by no means disgraced on his handicap debut at Pontefract and can make further progress. Areen Heart has a good record on the track and goes well fresh so the lack of a recent run isn't a problem but the main danger looks to be Cosmic Ray. Les Eyre's charge managed to win four times last summer and will have found 7f around Chester too tight on his final start.
