    Verdict

ALDRETH looks the one to beat in this. Mick Easterby's charge bids for a hat-trick off a 7lb higher mark after recording a couple of wide-margin victories at Musselburgh and Jammy Moment and Pass Muster will do well to reverse running. Samtu could prove a bigger threat if fully recovered having broken a blood vessel at Pontefract last time. He had run well for second at Goodwood before that and is also preferred to Waterclock, without a win since landing a maiden race in 2011. Shalabina won her maiden back in April and steps up in distance having slipped down the weights subsequently.
