In depth

Verdict

Assault On Rome returned to winning ways at Leicester last week but is too unpredictable to recommend under a penalty. Thorkhill Star only beat Dark Red by a head in a maiden contest over a shorter trip here last month but the latter has since been beaten in a handicap. Multi Grain won at Thirsk last time and should go close again raised 4lb but it's SHAMAHEART (NAP) that makes most appeal on his close-up third over track and trip last month as the first two home have both won subsequently - Geoff Harker's charge should make another bold bid on that form.
