      Verdict

Richard Fahey won this with the subsequently smart Listed winner Barefoot Lady in 2010. The yard runs AVEC ROSE today and she looks the one to beat on the evidence of her latest second at Thirsk to Middle Park entry Fire Eyes. This should prove easier and she's preferred to Newmarket raider March, a decent third at Kempton last time with a subsequent winner behind. Dark Opal had an off day at York last month but had shown some ability before that but Blue Clumber's length defeat in the Hilary Needler over C&D in May now looks like a fluke as she's been well beaten in all three starts since. Equinox, a half-sister to dual winner Delft, makes most appeal of the newcomers.
