A few of these saw their progress halted last time, but that wasn't the case with LAS VERGLAS STAR. He ran really well to finish fourth in a hot handicap at Goodwood last month with Tinkertown and Specific Gravity behind and needs just a bit more improvement to land this. Mark Johnston has a good recent record in this race and Malthouse should fare better back against his own age group after a poor effort at Sandown last Saturday, while Roayh has the best recent run of Saeed Bin Suroor's duo with a fourth at Newmarket. Sud Pacifique hasn't improved on his good start to the season but is not easily written off refreshed from a six week lay-off.
