Most of these have scope for improvement but it's rare to see Ryan Moore on a handicap bottomweight and WOM can step up on previous efforts in first-time blinkers over a trip that should suit. He was noted staying on nicely over a mile in a Newmarket handicap last time and a mile and a quarter looks right up his street. Maricopa is not a Godolphin leading light but should do better moving into handicaps and his yard should have a good handle on Plattsburgh, the colt having just left Mahmood Al Zarooni's yard for Mark Johnston. He has also shown enough to play a part, whilst Spanish Pride will be all the better for a satisfactory Sandown reappearance and cannot be excluded in a tight little contest.
