In depth

Verdict

Lyonesse may be able to improve sufficiently from her debut to take this prize with Bad Baron and Cavendish Road likely to figure prominently. Bad Baron caught the eye doing some good work late on behind a Richard Hannon trained horse at Leicester on debut and is sure to be a popular selection on the back of that. However, her trainer has only saddled one winner since May which has to be a worry despite a few of her runners making the frame. Manero's debut wasn't without promise and he has entries in a couple of sales races and in the big juvenile race at Redcar; support for him would be of interest. Spit And Polish is another potential improver whilst Cavendish Road and Hameildaeme have both done enough to suggest that they can find a race. The selection never got out of mid-division when ninth in a Windsor maiden where the first two home were stablemates. The seventh and eighth both won their next starts to give the form some substance and Lyonesse may be able to follow suit.
