Prince Valentine is our confident selection in this affair with Recalcitrant and Chasing Memories looking obvious players. Course and distance form counts for plenty at Brighton and our eye was immediately drawn to the previous c & d winner. Granted, he is exposed as ordinary but he has no problems with the surface and Ryan Moore is aboard. Recalcitrant often flatters to deceive. He put up a fair enough effort at Great Leighs at the beginning of the month although this is his shortest trip that he has attempted since his first career start. Chasing Memories has clearly had training troubles. She has been given a drop in the weights and Richard Quinn looks a positive jockey booking. Pactolos Way has ability but has become disappointing. A first time visor is applied in an attempt to change fortunes. Chris Catlin looks a notable booking aboard Dancing Jest. She didn't look totally happy on her previous visit here but she would have finished closer than her position at Pontefract suggests as she reportedly lost a shoe. Fun In The Sun races without headgear today. Silver Blue was rated in the 90's when with Richard Hannon and the fact that he makes a long trip from Wales to be here could be significant. With 0 wins from 22 starts, Astroangel has seemed bereft of even owner Mystic Meg's "powers" of persuasion. Prince Valentine is accordingly recommended.
