Verdict

NAG'S WAG is the only course and distance winner in the line-up having returned to action last month to complete a double initiated at Kempton in October. She couldn't quite go the pace when dropped back to the minimum in a better-class race at Windsor last week but should get back to winning ways. Al Sailiyah had only shown moderate form in maidens before winning over the slightly shorter trip here last week where he stayed on strongly to lead close home. He's been raised 3lb but has a 6lb penalty to contend with though Gary Mahon's claim takes care of the extra. Highly Sprung landed a Catterick maiden in July and competed at a high level subsequently last season. He was tried over 7f on his reappearance at Kempton and only faded in the closing stages so a return to this trip will suit. Magic Strike showed some potential in three maidens last summer and a mark of 67 for his handicap debut could prove lenient.
