      Verdict

METAL GURU is a speculative pick in the nightcap with Azygous and Fast Freddie sure to have their followers. Reg Hollinshead's charge is exposed as ordinary although in fairness to him, the handicapper has not exactly been in a hurry to drop him down the ratings. His run behind Haajes was adequate at Catterick and if he can seal a late passage, he has to be in with some semblance of a chance. Azygous has a car park draw to contend with. Admittedly horses have won from this berth though generally when there has been plenty of give underfoot. Fast Freddie is one of two runners for Stewart Parr. He has plenty of pace though is invariably vulnerable to anything with finishing kick. Croeso Bach hasn't had a lot of racing this term though can tend to run freely in her races. Old boy, Pic Up Sticks tries hard but is on a losing run of a year. Smiddy Hill has raced lamentably of late. Night Prospector has had a busy couple of months. One Way Ticket knows how to win at this circuit and would have made more appeal had Milton Bradley's team been in better form. Bollin Franny has hit the frame on his last two outings under Natalia Gemelova and has claims of making the front trio again. Metal Guru is the selection in a trappy finale.
