Verdict

Plenty of deadwood here and Vegas Boys is a confident choice to get the better of old rival Cree, while Ceredig and the talented but frustrating Colonel Cotton are others to bear in mind. Colonel Cotton has had more chances than Brian Robson and will need to be on his mettle from his wide draw. However, he is incredibly well handicapped just now and he could still be a force in a modest race like this (if he puts his mind to it!) Ceredig was a good second at Salisbury last week and it is noteworthy his connections have him well entered this week. He is obviously in good heart and a big run can be expected. Cree has a bit to find with the selection and needs luck on his side. Still, he does have fair claims at the weights, so has to enter calculations. However, Vegas Boys is holding his form really well just now and, judging by the way he was staying on in the closing stages of his latest outing, this trip will suit him ideally.
