In depth

Verdict

Middlemarch, Bridgewater Boys and Cottingham are three against the field in this tight handicap and the vote is given to Middlemarch. The selection was a fair fifth behind Chief Scout last time out and with rain forecast which is sure to suit he looks the value bet from a good draw in an open affair. Bridgewater Boys rates the main danger on his latest third behind Inside Story but that form has since been let down and he is passed over with this in mind. Cottingham is another that could go well on his latest third behind Jordan's Elect but he would not want to much rain. Donna's Double won well last time out but will find this harder under a penalty. Of the remainder Scottys Future has dropped to a handy mark and could go well at a price but he is hard to win with and for the winner we are happy to return to Middlemarch.
