In depth

Verdict

Springaway is forwarded as a sporting choice, while Whatcanyasay and Star Fever are also expected to be involved in the thick of the action. Star Fever came good over hurdles at Musselburgh in January and was far from disgraced on his chasing debut last time out. He has scope for improvement and is one to seriously consider if the market vibes are positive. Whatcanyasay showed marked improvement on better ground at Sedgefield last time out. He has very little to find to be effective at this level and has a solid each-way chance if the conditions remain in his favour. However, a chance is taken that Springaway can continue to progress now that he tackles fences. The Kate Milligan-trained gelding drops to a more appropriate trip today and, as he represents fair value at the odds, he gets a tentative nomination.
