Verdict

Recent winners Hello Roberto and Soaked have every chance on form but have been done few favours with a low draw and preference is for the well-berthed Tally, who gets the verdict over Flying Tackle. The last mentioned was produced late to land an apprentices' handicap at Bath earlier this month but disappointed when favourite for a race at Beverley subsequently and preference is for Tally. Mark Polglase's gelding has been running consistently well for some time now and ran up to his best when a close third behind Artie at York last time. Set to go up 7lbs in future handicaps, the four-year-old has an obvious chance and is hard to oppose. David Nicholls sets the usual poser by saddling three runners with the nine-year-old American Cousin preferred to Izmail and Online Investor of his trio. John Wainwright's Fairgame Man overcame a bad draw to win at Beverley on Tuesday and has to be respected under a 6lb penalty today. The booking of Kevin Darley for Linda Perratt's Pirlie Hill takes the eye but is another that could be better drawn and a safer option looks to be Tally who has plenty in his favour.
