In depth

Verdict

Barataria can prove his maiden win last time was no fluke by beating Top Dirham and Emperor's Well. Robin Bastiman's charge didn't beat anything special last time out Catterick, but he did win it with a little authority. The form has recieved a bit of a boost with the fourth and fifth home doing well next time out and so the race may have been a bit better than we first thought. Top Dirham is not getting any younger but did run a solid race last time out at Newcastle and could make it into the frame. Meanwhile Emperor's Well is looking very well treated at present and it would be no surprise to see this one bounce back to form. Of the others Regent's Secret looked on the way back last time out and could go well despite top-weight, however Barataria hasn't been too harshly treated by the handicapper and he can make it back to back victories.
