Verdict

Richard Fahey’s yard bids to win this for the third time in succession and RAMESSES (NAP) arrives in the best form. He was gelded over the winter and returned to action with a victory at Leicester on his handicap debut. An apprentice’s allowance negates most of a 6lb rise and he looks the one to beat. Howzer Black was placed in a higher grade at Musselburgh recently still looking for his first handicap success but finished in front of Arletta Star while Port of Leith finished third on the all-weather at Lingfield earlier but was beaten at Beverley last time. Kolossus and Evie Speed were well beaten in the same race at Wetherby recently and the less exposed Ifton debuts for Ruth Carr.
