      In depth

      Verdict

Percy Toplis returned a clear winner over 6f at Hamilton last time but is upped a grade for this and had earlier finished behind LADY CRISTAL when the latter was third in a Class 3 handicap at Thirsk. Karl Burke’s filly will find life easier in this and gets the vote. Foxy Boy found only one too good in a nursery over track and trip last month when ahead of Harbour Lightning and the latter has subsequently gone close in a maiden at Beverley with Mama Africa behind. It was soft ground when Mightaswellsmile won her maiden at Nottingham but she came up short on the all-weather on her handicap debut.
