    Verdict

Red River Boy has been running well here in defeat just lately but the same fate may await and PISTE might just have the edge over both him and King's Sabre in another open contest. King's Sabre is reasonably consistent for one at this level and after taking a maiden handicap at Yarmouth earlier in the month he again ran with credit in a 7f Redcar claimer last time. The ground will suit though this trip may ultimately be his undoing. Sir Mozart must be watched in the market given connections and the handicapper has been reluctant to drop him from today's mark of 58 despite two defeats from it already this season. A win would be no great surprise. Weetentherty has been given more of a squeak by the assessor while Bollywood Style is on a competitive mark and has conditions in her favour, so cannot be ruled out. Even so, Piste is the one for us. Tina Jackson's filly has gone very well when stepped up to this trip on her last two starts and acts well on fast ground. With a 1lb drop to assist and a reasonable draw we will side with her. Jonathan Doidge.
