Talk Of Saafend had been a revelation during the earlier part of the summer though the likelihood of soft ground tempers enthusiasm and we elect to look elsewhere. Wheyaye appreciated bottomless conditions at Hexham and while we can't discount Val Jackson's mare from running another bold race she may have to give best to DESOLAIT. It does have to be of some concern that Nigel Twiston-Davies' mare ran so poorly at the track last year, but the fact that she was then absent for almost a year suggests something may have been amiss. She accounted for Glaced Over when the pair met at Hexham over a shorter trip and though Raymond Sheils' runner is 2lb better off at the weights, she remains a maiden after 21 starts.
