In depth

Verdict

Keep a close eye on Grandads Horse in the market as he'd have a real chance if recapturing his 2011-12 form, whilst also taking a major step down in grade here after contesting very hot handicap company since returning from an absence. The market should reflect stable confidence. However, he faces a selection of in-form types of whom WOLF SHIELD makes greatest appeal in search of a three-timer. Conditions will suit admirably and he created a really good impression over Hexham's three miles last time. There should be more to come from him too. Humbie, lightly-raced over timber for a nine-year-old, rates a real danger, especially with Graham Watters taking off a useful 7lb, whilst Wake Your Dreams and Andreo Bambaleo both recorded pleasing successes last time and deserve a place on the shortlist in a competitive affair.
