In depth

Verdict

Jericho III has been kept very busy by trainer Richard Guest of late and provided that he comes out of his latest start at Towcester yesterday well enough has an obvious chance at the weights but this looks tougher than a lot of his recent contests and preference is for World Vision, who is narrowly preferred to Kids Inheritance. The selection has won both of his starts over fences, latterly when beating Iverain cleverly at Musselburgh over a similar trip to today and an 8lb rise for that success may not prevent Ferdy Murphy's gelding from winning again. Top weight Deep Water is capable on his day and has slipped back to a winning mark but has given little sign of encouragement of late and a bigger threat may come from Richard Guest's Why The Long Face, who receives plenty of weight from his main rivals and hails from a stable in fine form. Sound of Cheers has claims on his best form but is inconsistent and of more interest may be Kids Inheritance, who comes into this on the back of a win in a novices' handicap here over two miles but has gone up 7lbs in the weights for that run. Jericho III obviously has to be respected but another run in a short space of time and a longer trip lead us to side with another unexposed sort World Vision.
