In depth

Verdict

Green Prospect faces a round trip of around 600 miles so connections will be hoping for a big run to contribute to the fuel costs. We'll take him to prevail but he could face fierce opposition from the likes of Youngblood, Bluto, Basinet and Kingsbury. The selection is a solid performer in this grade as his recent form testifies. The drying ground should suit him, as should the track and there's no reason to suspect that he won't be there or thereabouts at the line. Youngblood won a Listowel handicap on his first run back from a break in June so would have to be feared if the market were to give out the right signals. That comment also applies to Basinet who proved to be a consistent performer when last in action in 2006. Bluto has been given a break since disappointing last time; the cheekpieces that he wore for the first time that day are left off and he may well be able to get back on track. Kingsbury profited from the drop to this grade to finish third at Uttoxeter and has claims once again but is still awaiting his first success. Namroud is also worth a second look but we'll stick with Green Prospect.
