In depth

Verdict

Most of these are a little out of sorts at present, so it could rest between the three in form runners, Inchpast, Siegfrieds Night and Can Can Flyer, with the last named just getting the vote. Mark Johnston's gelding stayed on strongly when runner up to Bramantino over a mile and a half last time. He would have won in another few strides so will appreciate the longer trip today. Inchpast put up a gutsy performance to beat Jolizero in a thrilling finish at Beverley last time and should go close again back in handicap company. Siegfrieds Night will be a major threat to all, after chasing home Astyanax at Yarmouth, he put up a faultless display when landing a Cartmel novice hurdle. In this sort of form he will be difficult to beat. Another to consider is Prairie Sun, who was six length behind Siegfrieds Night in that Cartmel contest, but can be given a squeak against that opponent today with a massive weight pull. However Can Can Flyer appears to have more scope than his rivals and is gets the verdict.
