Verdict

PERFECT BLOSSOM is in cracking form and despite another 6lb rise she should be very hard to beat here, with High Spice, Mercers Row and Tillys Tale all having some sort of claim. The selection has won three of her last four and gets on well with today's pilot and championship leader Paul Hanagan. This trip and fast ground both suit and there may well be more up her sleeve. High Spice has top weight and is up 5lbs for her Bath success last time. She should be competitive, though she has previously struggled from a mark of 80 and may just be found wanting. Mercers Row is 9lbs higher then when taking a Beverley handicap. Noel Wilson's gelding is, at least, in form, though previous tries in handicaps from lower marks than this give him a fair bit to prove. Tillys Tale is 3lbs better off with our pick for being beaten a length at Pontefract and looks to be the big danger, though we think that Perfect Blossom can go in again.
