Verdict

Felix Mendelssohn is back on the same mark as when completing a double on good ground in May but wouldn't want any more rain. The more of it the better for Casual Cavalier, whose last two victories have both been on heavy ground and who will be better for his run in a stronger race at Newcastle where a mistake put paid to his chances. Reverant Cust gained his only chasing success on this track but is better over further while Cybalko was well beaten in both starts last month. MAXED OUT KING was always in the front rank and battled on gamely to score at Sedgefield and a 4lb rise looks manageable.
