In depth

Verdict

Monash Lad is unpenalised for his romp in a Sedgefield seller and is hard to get away from in a similar contest. Rotuma and Martin House make most appeal of the remainder. On just his second start for Liam Corcoran, Monash Lad routed the opposition to record the first success of his career. There didn't appear to be any fluke about that success and now that his new connections have found the key to him, he may be able to run up a sequence before the handicapper collars him. Martin House doesn't have too much to recommend him on the book but it looks significant that his shrewd trainer makes this journey and he must be respected. Devilfishpoker Com and Obara D'Avril are also short-listed but Rotuma could give the selection most to do. He hasn't run over the sticks for a while but has claims on the form that he's shown in this code. He's continued to run well enough on the level and should handle conditions but Monash Lad is preferred.
