Cases can be made for a number of these, with Hot Weld just edging the vote over Tynedale and Tom Fruit, while Pottsy's Joy can go well for each-way players if the prices permits a further interest. The last named stayed this trip well when winning here last month and he still has scope for improvement now that he has proved a test of stamina suits him. However, he faces a much stiffer test today and may find at least one has his measure at this level. Tynedale showed a good attitude on his handicap debut and his form figures tell their own story of how he is progression this term. However, he was no match for the selection when they met at Newcastle and he comes into the contest with something to prove. The same has to be said of Tom Fruit and Narciso, who fought out a good finish at Wetherby earlier in the month. Both are upped in trip again this afternoon and also appear to have their work cut out against Hot Weld, who is expected to be very hard to master with the emphasis very much on stamina this afternoon.
