        Verdict

        Three of these took part in a similar contest over track and trip earlier in the month when runner-up Meshardal came out best just ahead of third-placed EXTRASOLAR. But the latter tumbled down the weights last year and looks set to end a long losing run at last. Windforpower was further behind on that occasion but Tricky Dicky beat a subsequent winner when winning at Southwell and collateral form also gives him the beating of Secret Missile. Top of The Bank won twice on the all-weather earlier in the year and was second at Hamilton recently but Major Crispies has won just the once on Turf in 26 attempts.

        Tricky Dicky 8-1 (9-4) Made all, driven when when challenged over 2f out, ran on well, won at Southwell 6f hcp (5) pol in May beating Captain Bob (9-4) by 2l, 9 ran.

        Top of The Bank 10-1 (9-12) With winner, ridden and every chance inside final furlong, no extra and just held on for 2nd place post, 2nd of 6, 1 1/4l behind Spirit Of Wedza (9-7) at Hamilton 5f hcp (5) gf in May.
