Verdict

Pennek was a decent staying hurdler who was placed in the 2009 Pertemps Final at Cheltenham but he hasn't shown a similar level of form over the bigger obstacles. WOLF MOON was a very progressive hurdler in 2009/10 who won four times including a handicap at Cheltenham on New Year's Day last year. His first three starts over fences came on that track but it wasn't until his latest run at Doncaster, where he was staying on over the three mile trip, that he showed enough promise over fences to be considered a potential winner. He may just have the edge over Silent Cliche, a winning point-to-pointer who was unluckily impeded when falling at Sedgefield last time.
