Verdict

AENGUS hadn't been showing much after arriving from Ireland before heading to Wetherby last week where, well supported, he turned a handicap into a procession. If he's in that sort of form again, a 7lb penalty is hardly likely to prevent a follow-up. Monsieur Arkadin hails from a yard in top form and the Huntingdon bumper winner should be capable of better over hurdles while Bruce Almighty looks the type to be suited by this longer trip, though he's still looking a few pounds high in the weights. Turtle Cask is the only course and distance winner in the line-up and back on the same mark as when last successful just over a year ago.
