    Verdict

This looks a poor contest even by selling race standards with the top-rated horse Oops having a rating of just 66 but as Tim Easterby's gelding has shown little sign of retaining any ability this term he is passed over in favour of Mai Tai, who gets the nod over Jezadil. The selection advertised her current well-being with a comfortable success in similar grade over 1m4f at Southwell earlier in the month and, with the extra two furlongs not expected to be a problem, she gets the vote to follow up. Jezadil won a Ripon handicap off a mark of 37 last month but has struggled since and, under her penalty for that win, she may have to settle for a minor role again. Righty Ho has claims of reversing forms with the selection on running at Southwell on 6lb better terms for two lengths and cannot be discounted. The Fairy Flag has claims at the weights but the stable of Alan Bailey continues to fire blanks and as such she is probably best discounted.
