In depth

Verdict

EMILIA JAMES could only manage fourth from a wide draw at Chester but won nicely at Beverley before that and makes most appeal of those carrying a penalty. Queen Of Kalahari opened her account in soft ground at Leicester recently and should go well again while it’s too soon to write off course and distance winner Blessed To Empress after struggling in Listed company at York. The filly Three Little Birds was runner-up at Catterick but the form hasn’t worked out while the newcomer Monsieur Renard makes little appeal.
