In depth

Verdict

Gentle Look ran out of steam in the closing stages over today’s trip at Bath behind a Mark Johnston-trained winner. The latter runs Musselburgh third Lord Lamington in this though he was still beaten eight lengths on that occasion. But PRINCE LLYR wasn’t beaten far in a Class 3 maiden race over 1m2f at Goodwood last month and a subsequent winner has come out of the race. Heather Main’s charge is preferred to Murray River on that form as the latter steps up in trip for the Gosden yard having placed over a mile at Salisbury. Critical Data’s earlier handicap win came over 7f and Calling The Wind is another exposed type stepping up in trip.
