In depth

Verdict

Emperor's Star has returned a beaten favourite in both starts so far and will need to win this to take up some of his fancy entries including next month’s Royal Lodge at Newmarket. ANNAFEL is also in the latter Group 2 race and a chance is taken the Gosdens’ newcomer is good enough at the first time of asking having cost 200,000gns at the Craven Breeze-Up in April. Desert Rhapsody and Orbital are other newcomers to note while Run Boy Run placed at Newmarket on his debut and Nukanan is a likely improver.
